Quality can mean different things to different people. So, we wanted to share with you what quality means to us at Altitude Vans. First off, quality is the foundation of our business and something every team member is extremely passionate about and proficient in.

From our concierge team to our design team to our building team, every nook and cranny of Altitude Vans and our team’s mindset is rooted in providing quality to our clients. We pride ourselves on using:

Quality Materials In Our Van Builds

A van conversion is only as good as the materials that are used. Often, van builders may select subpar materials because they are less expensive. And, unfortunately, a consumer may not know the difference up front, but will ultimately become aware after it’s too late.

The wood and hard materials that we use in our builds do not come from Home Depot. Altitude Vans only sources from premium providers to ensure the foundation of the build is durable, in addition to supporting the wear and tear that comes with living and traveling in such a small space.

Quality Components In Our Van Builds

When we talk about components, we mean hardware, batteries, appliances, and extras in your van. The big thing to keep in mind is that not all components are created equal, so we’ve spent a lot of time researching and vetting these components to ensure your van is equipped with systems that won’t fail or even cause you headaches when you’re on the road.

A quick example is hinges and latches. While that might seem like a straightforward component, hinges purchased on Amazon may not be built to support a drawer holding a heavyweight refrigerator. With our builds, you’ll never have to worry about making a hard turn and having the contents of your fridge spilling out into your van.

Quality Finish Work In Our Van Builds

Things that may seem insignificant are essential to us—for example, edge banding. Edge banding is not only important for function in your van but also for achieving a beautiful look and feel.

In short, edge banding seals the ends of wood that are often left raw. If they are left raw, general moisture can migrate into the wood, and over time, can degrade the wood and cause peeling or breakage (even if it’s high-quality wood!). We edge band every single piece of wood that goes into our vans, so you’ll never have to worry about any deterioration.

Quality Electrical In Our Van Builds

Our lead for electrical work at Altitude Vans holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and has decades of experience creating and testing systems. So, he’s a stickler when it comes to ensuring that even the smallest detail is perfect in our van builds.

Here are a few examples of how important quality is when it comes to electrical.

Proper Wire Sizing:

If the appropriate size wire isn’t used, the worst-case scenario can be very scary. An undersized wire can result in more current flowing through the wire than it’s rated for, which can cause materials to melt and ultimately a fire. Other less dangerous fails can occur as well. If wire sizing isn’t correct, there will eventually be inefficiencies within the electrical system.

While inefficiencies might not be as big of a deal in your home, they are in a van. Loss of energy can cause voltage drops, which can result in your heater not igniting. Even if the voltage is there, the batteries get tricked into thinking it’s not. No heat in the winter can really suck, so this is big! The team at Altitude Vans ensures that every aspect of your electrical system is pristine and operates at optimal levels.

High-Quality Electrical Components:

From batteries to inverters to chargers, the quality of the electrical components that go into your van are of critical importance. Low-quality brands will ultimately result in the component having a short life span and potentially destroying an adventure. The components we select and use let you spend days adventuring, not wasting time in a repair shop getting new batteries installed.

Quality Plumbing In Our Van Builds

When it comes to plumbing, we go beyond the basics to ensure that our clients never get into a situation with their van conversion that could really mess up a trip. Beyond the basics, we consider our clients’ lifestyles to make sure the plumbing system supports their needs.

Our team routes all plumbing to prevent the lines from freezing, installs drain valves to prevent freezing water, offers fully recyclable showers that recirculate, filter and temperature-control the water. This means that you can shower frequently without having to worry about refilling your water storage as often.

Quality Service at Altitude Vans

While client service isn’t necessarily part of the actual van build, it’s equally essential to the Altitude Vans’ team! We believe that the client experience should be as stress-free and enjoyable as possible, so we do everything in our power to ensure that you feel taken care of through each and every step of your van build journey.

Regardless if you work with us on a fully-custom van conversion or one of our signature van builds, you will receive quality from day one. If you have any questions, would like more information, or would like to set up a consultation to get started, please get in touch.

We look forward to being in touch with you!
